A Project Zomboid server is a dedicated multiplayer world where several players can play together in the same survival environment, with their own rules and mods.
This depends on hardware and settings, but typically 8–64 players, and more on powerful servers. You can count on around 500mb to 1GB of RAM per player.
Yes, Project Zomboid has very good mod support, especially on dedicated servers.
It depends entirely on how many will be playing, and any settings and mods you want to use. We recommend 6GB as a starting point, and then you can see how much you actually use, and adjust up or down as the world develops.
It depends on a few different factors. The servers are located in Eastern Norway, but the DDoS protection is located elsewhere. On a more general basis, we find that those with a stable and good connection often have around 10ms ping. This varies with the network line, from the PC you are sitting at all the way to the server, but you can try our test servers if you have game licenses for the game servers shown on our front page.
Guides on how to set up the server and adjust settings can be found in our knowledge base.
192 kr a month, and 336kr a month?? Why not 199kr a month, and 339kr a month? It is simply because we have pushed the prices down so hard that we have gone past the usual manipulative prices, straight down as low as we can get them.
Yes! We are always looking for projects, communities and similar that we can partner with. Unfortunately we cannot sponsor under the current tax rules, but we can try to push down our already wildly low prices in exchange for exposure.
A Project Zomboid server gives you the ultimate zombie survival experience together with friends or a larger community. With dedicated server hosting you get better performance, stability and full control over mods, settings and the game world. Project Zomboid is known for its deep gameplay, realistic mechanics and active modding scene, and private servers are the heart of the game.
Project Zomboid is a zombie survival game developed by The Indie Stone, and is considered by many to be one of the most realistic survival games on the market. The game does not focus on quick victories or a way to beat the game, but one simple outcome:
“This is how you died.”
You have to deal with:
Hunger, thirst and illness
Injuries, infections and mental health
Building, farming and base defense
Zombies with realistic behavior
Permanent death (permadeath)
This makes Project Zomboid fundamentally different from more arcade style games, and that is exactly why the game has built an extremely dedicated community.
Even though Project Zomboid can be played solo, it is in multiplayer that the game really shines. A dedicated Project Zomboid server gives you:
A stable and persistent game world
Optimal performance. The server runs on a dedicated server, and does not have to handle background processes.
Full control over server settings
The option of mods and customizations
24/7 access to the world. Play around the clock, even when friends are offline
Just like with games such as Minecraft, ARK and Hytale, it is private servers that create the best and most memorable experiences for those who want to play with groups of friends!
Project Zomboid multiplayer is not just about surviving zombies, but about interaction between players. On a server you can:
Establish safe bases
Share roles (medic, farmer, scavenger)
Create your own rules and roleplay
Play PvE, PvP or RP servers
Build long term communities
This is a lot like how Minecraft communities develop over time, but with far higher risk and excitement.
One of Project Zomboid's greatest strengths is its mod support. With a professional Project Zomboid server you can easily run popular mods such as:
New weapons and vehicles
Realistic medical systems
Map expansions and towns
Hardcore survival mods
QoL improvements and UI mods
This gives almost endless possibilities to create a unique server experience, whether for friends or a larger public community.
Many start by hosting locally, but this has clear limitations:
| Local hosting | Dedicated server |
|---|---|
| PC must be on | The server runs 24/7 |
| Limited performance | Dedicated resources |
| Potentially unstable connection | Low latency |
| Difficult for mods | Easy mod management |
With dedicated Project Zomboid server hosting you get a far more stable and professional solution.
Project Zomboid is perfect for:
Groups of friends who want to play together over time
Hardcore survival players
Roleplay communities
Streamers and content creators
Players who like realistic mechanics
If you like games like Rust or modded Minecraft survival, chances are Project Zomboid will hit the spot even better.
If you choose a Norwegian Project Zomboid server, you get:
Lower latency for Norwegian and Nordic players
A more stable connection
Norwegian support
Servers adapted for European players
A spot in our very own server park, centrally located in Eastern Norway!
Norwegian laws and regulations
This gives a noticeably better gaming experience, especially in multiplayer.
Project Zomboid is still in active development, with major updates such as:
NPCs
Further developed crafting
Even deeper survival systems
This makes it a game with an extremely long lifespan, and private servers will continue to be the core of the experience, just as we have seen in games like Minecraft and ARK.
