Which server type should I choose?
Wondering how to switch to Paper? Or did you just ask yourself: How do I switch to Forge? Then you have come to the right guide!
It varies a lot depending on your needs.
If you have a Minecraft server where you want plugins, Paper is often the way to go. Be aware that Paper requires a minimum of 6GB RAM.
If you want mods, this is also a bit of a jungle, as you can choose between Forge, NeoForge and Fabric. You should look into this before you start setting up the server, as some mods need Fabric, others Forge. Some need lots of RAM and several CPU threads, others manage with what you give them.
This guide applies to all servers that have several Server Types.
1. Log in to the Payment panel
2. Click services
4. Click the Upgrade button
5. Click Next Step
5. There you will find Server Type
6. Click Upgrade
When the steps above are done, you need to log in to the Game panel
1. Choose your server
2. Click settings
3. Reinstall Server
4. Start the server
You have now changed the server type on your server
